Old robots never die, they simply fade away. (And probably rust a bit.) This week, Boston Dynamics said adieu to HD Atlas, the human-ish robot that debuted over a decade ago. And then promptly introduced its replacement.

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, rare among globally famous races, maintains an easy-to-find list of records for every current and former class the race has welcomed in its 101-year history. There are three blank spaces in the Eligible Non-Division Records section: Production Truck/Van, Electric Production SUV/Crossover, and Electric Modified SUV/Crossover. The small print underneath the title informs any willing entry that «a record attempt must be declared in advance.» You can fill Hyundai in for at least one of those blank SUV/Crossover lines, and we suspect both will be in play: The Korean manufacturer announced it's taking four Ioniq 5 N electric crossovers to the Colorado start line this June.
Hyundai is bringing four Ioniq 5 Ns to June’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and will attempt to set a new electric production SUV/crossover record with its compelling new EV.Hot on the heels of the Ioniq 5 N being crowned 2024 World Performance Car, the automaker has planned an all-out assault on Pikes Peak. Two production-spec examples driven by Paul Dallenbach and Ron Zaras will go record chasing while two modified Ioniq 5 Ns will be piloted by Dani Sordo and Robin Shute, the former a WRC driver for Hyundai Motorsport.
While the car is only rumored so far, spy photos seem to confirm that a Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is on its way. This prototype was caught at the Nürburbring, and while the bodywork is tame, it's sporting all the other components necessary for a high-performance version of the sleek electric sedan.
After reports surfaced about the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 6 N, our spy photographers captured what appears to be an early development prototype of this high-performance EV. Serving as the sedan counterpart to the Ioniq 5 N, it is anticipated to deliver even greater performance, capitalizing on its low-slung silhouette and the expertise of the Hyundai N division.The test mule was spotted testing in Germany, showcasing wider tracks and provisional fender extensions. It also sports a new set of black alloy wheels with red calipers, suggesting an upgraded braking system.
Crossover SUVs may rule the day, but there’s still a market for good old-fashioned sedans. Of course, there’s absolutely nothing else old-fashioned about the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6, an electric car that looks like it arrived in your driveway from the future. Indeed, its striking design is a key part of its appeal – and not just from an aesthetic standpoint. The ultra-aerodynamic shape contributes to exceptional efficiency and range, although the latter differs considerably based on motor and trim level. Perhaps a bit too much, as the only way to get the 361-mile max range is with the base SE trim and its excessively downmarket cabin.
Hyundai's first electric hot hatch, the Ioniq 5 N, will get the opportunity to prove its mettle on the track later in 2024. The company unveiled a race-ready model called Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup that will compete in a new category named eN1 that was created exclusive for electric vehicles.
