Volkswagen has revealed a radical shift in design for its future electric models with the unveiling of the ID.Code concept on Volkswagen Group media night ahead of the 2024 Beijing motor show (Auto China 2024). Sporting a sleek new design language conceived exclusively for Chinese-market cars, the SUV-coupe concept previews a new range of EVs being developed in partnership with Volkswagen's various joint venture partners in China, says Volkswagen CEO Thomas Schafer.
Volkswagen unveiled ID. Code 01 electric SUV ahead of its public debut at the Beijing Auto Show on April 25. It is designed for L4 autonomous driving, has a built-in robotic vacuum cleaner, and aims at young buyers. Volkswagen says the car has the new Chinese DNA as it follows the “in China for China strategy.”

Volkswagen could bring back the popular Scriocco sports coupe in the future as an EV. The brand is currently studying internal design, engineering and manufacturing proposals for its return as an electric car with 1970s inspired styling and a possible dual-motor, four-wheel-drive R flagship.
Leaked on Instagram by Wilco Blok, the images show several key variants of the overhauled model range including the wagon, iconic GTI hot-hatch and the plug-in hybrid Golf GTE.
The VW T-Roc Cabriolet has always been a bit of an oddity within the Volkswagen family so it comes as no surprise that it will not be replaced when the next-generation model launches, according to a new report.The German automaker has been selling the current-generation T-Roc as a convertible soft top since 2020 and from January to November last year, managed to sell 11,693 examples. Volkswagen is set to shake up its SUV lineup as it officially confirms that the Tiguan AllSpace will soon be replaced by the eagerly awaited Tayron as its go-to seven-seat SUV. The shift signals a new era in Volkswagen’s offerings, especially in South Africa where the Tiguan has already gained a solid reputation.
