Not Tata or Ashok Leyland, this start-up has bagged order for 1,000 electric trucks

Electric truck manufacturer Tresa Motors has bagged a pre-order for 1,000 trucks from logistics company JFK Transporters. The Bengaluru-based start-up offers the Model V0.1, which was unveiled in July 2023. The company is further developing electric trucks in the 18T-55T gross vehicle weight (GVW) segment.

The Tresa trucks currently have a 24,000Nm motor paired with a 300kWh battery pack, which supports a 15-minute 10-80% charge. They have a claimed top speed of 120kmph. The company did not disclose the range of these electric trucks on a single full charge.

Built on the Flux 350 platform, the Tressa trucks are equipped with Meg50 800V 50kWh self-contained battery pack module. The battery pack is IP69-rated and has active-liquid cooling technology for tailored ranges, based on payload.

«We have worked for many years to get to the stage we are at now, with Tresa, and yet, this is just the beginning. We are delighted that leading logistics companies like JFK Transporters are coming forward and reposing their faith in us. Tresa trucks represent the pinnacle of innovation, combining cutting-edge technology with sustainability. This partnership underscores our shared commitment to reducing carbon emissions and paving the way for a cleaner, more efficient, and more environmentally responsible transportation industry,» said Rohan Shravan, CEO, Tresa Motors.

«JFK Transporters has always been at the forefront of embracing sustainable practices. By incorporating Tresa Motors' advanced electric trucks into our fleet, we are taking a significant step towards achieving our goal of reducing our carbon footprint while maintaining the highest standards of operational efficiency and safety,» said Adil Kotwal, MD, JFK Transporters.
