Updated Jawa Perak Launched With A More Refined Engine And Gearbox

2024 Jawa Perak and 42 Bobber were launched together just a couple of weeks ago. Not even a month later, Jawa has updated the Perak with a smoother engine and an updated gearbox. However, the price remains the same at Rs 2,13,187 (ex-showroom Delhi).

This update includes small changes to the gear teeth, which makes them fit together better and reduces noise and vibrations. The new gearbox cover reduces the gearbox sound and makes it more refined. In the previous update, the Perak received a re-tuned 7-step preload adjustable monoshock for better damping, now as Jawa quotes, it has «sportier suspension for agile handling».

The 2024 Perak gets improved gear ratios and better throttle mapping. The changes to the engine include a new piston skirt shape and a cast iron liner in the cylinder block which help in reducing friction for a smoother ride. Moreover, the engine has been tuned to increase the mileage and reduce the maintenance costs.

The Perak also gets a bigger 38mm throttle body whereas the addition of a new crankshaft reduces the stress on the engine, making it run smoother than before. The 2024 Perak continues to be powered by a 334cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 29.9PS and 30Nm. It is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.
