Upcoming Affordable Bajaj Chetak Spied Testing Ahead Of The Launch: Clearest Pics Yet

The upcoming affordable variant of the Bajaj Chetak has been spied testing and these are the clearest pictures of the electric scooter.

The spied scooter featured a mid-mounted motor instead of a hub motor, which tells us that the motor may be a detuned version of the current Chetak’s base variant and may have less power output and top speed. For perspective, the Chetak’s base variant’s motor is rated for a 73kmph top speed and 113km of range.

The spy shots suggest that the upcoming more affordable Chetak will come equipped with the old LCD console of the Chetak. It may either come with basic connectivity or might get the connectivity package as an optional feature. The upcoming electric scooter also gets a physical key while the higher variants come with a fob key. Moreover, the spied e-scooter has an apron-mounted utility hook and comes with two open cubby holes on the apron whereas the current-gen Chetak has a closed glovebox.

The upcoming Chetak in the spied images features a single-sided swingarm. Bajaj has equipped it with steel wheels and drum brakes on both ends to manage costs. It is expected to be launched in May or June of 2024.
