Toyota Kirloskar set to introduce Maruti Suzuki Fronx-based Toyota Taisor in India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor is set to introduce the Maruti Suzuki Fronx-based Toyota Taisor in India, marking another collaboration between Toyota and Suzuki.

Toyota currently markets popular Maruti models like the Baleno and Ertiga as the Glanza and Rumion, respectively. The Fortuner-maker even sold the pre-facelift Vitara Brezza as the Urban Cruiser.

Toyota and Suzuki have also co-developed a mid-size SUV, sold as the Grand Vitara by Maruti and the Urban Cruiser Hyryder by Toyota.

The Toyota Taisor will likely feature a new grille, redesigned headlamp and taillamp units, tweaked bumpers, and possibly new alloys, but no significant sheet metal changes are expected. The interior is likely to remain largely unchanged, though new upholstery may be introduced.

The Toyota Taisor is expected to come with a better standard warranty than the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.

The Fronx is available with two engine options, a 1.2-litre Dual-Jet Dual-VVT petrol and a 1.0-litre Turbo Boosterjet petrol, and also a CNG option with the 1.2-litre engine. It is yet to be revealed which powertrains will be offered with the Toyota Taisor.

The Toyota Taisor price in India will depend on the trims and powertrains offered.
