BYD-owned Fangchengbao brings three new cars to Beijing show

Nascent BYD-owned brand Fangchengbao has revealed three radical new cars – the Bao 8, Super 3 and Super 9 – for the Beijing motor show.
Today BYD’s high end brand Yangwang unveiled its new flagship sedan the U7 at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. BYD claim the Yangwang U7 will have the lowest drag coefficient among globally mass-produced cars with a figure of Cd 0.195.
Today at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show BYD unveiled its new Ocean-M concept. The concept previews a new production car set to launch in the third quarter of this year. A radical looking hatchback it appears to be a bit bigger than the Dolphin and so is likely aimed more as a VW ID.3 competitor. Given the hatchback shape and looks it has almost certainly been designed with cracking the European market in mind.
Today BYD released official interior pictures of its Sea Lion 07, an SUV competitor to the Tesla Model Y. With an MIIT listing months ago the car must be now ready to begin sales and an announcement may well be made at this week’s Beijing Auto Show.
We now know that the BYD pickup is called Shark. As can be seen from BYD’s teaser poster the company isn’t giving much away ahead of its launch at the Beijing Auto Show on April 25 however we have uncamouflaged spy shots from amigos in Mexico.
BYD Yuan UP was launched in China on 26 March 2024. It is the latest addition to the BYD Dynasty series and has a starting price of 96,800 yuan (13,400 USD). Fang Cheng Bao held the Spring Conference on April 16 and unveiled three new cars: the concept SUV Super 3 for the young generation, the flagship SUV Bao 8, and the supercar convertible Super 9.
