The domestically produced Volvo EX30 is here

This month, the domestically produced Volvo EX30 made its official debut, and the new vehicle will be showcased to the public for the first time at the Beijing Auto Show starting on the 25th. The Volvo EX30 is a brand-new compact electric SUV and the smallest SUV model ever produced by Volvo; however, CarNewsChina reported on spy shots of the vehicle early last year. Built on the SEA architecture from Geely, the car features a short front and rear overhang design, giving it a sleek appearance.

The Volvo EX30 continues the brand’s iconic “Scandinavian design” style. The most prominent feature of the front end is the “T”-shaped headlights with a grid-like light source. The front grille adopts a closed design but retains the Volvo logo, famously known as the “safety belt.”

The Volvo EX30 has smooth body curves, and the A, B, and C pillars are designed with a smoked black style. It is equipped with large-sized low-drag wheels and side skirts with anti-scratch decorative strips. Notably, the vehicle does not feature concealed door handles.

Moving to the rear of the car, the new model still follows the Volvo family’s design language. It features vertically split taillights, with a circular ring-shaped lighting element at the bottom, representing the “Volvo Asia Pacific” brand identity. The vehicle measures 4233/1838/1555 mm, with a wheelbase of 2650 mm. The overall size and wheelbase are slightly shorter than the popular Volvo XC40.

The interior of the Volvo EX30 continues the minimalist design philosophy. The classic 12.3-inch vertical central display screen is retained, while the buttons on the three-spoke multifunction steering wheel have been replaced with touch-sensitive controls. The air vents and a simple, smooth central armrest are also designed to be hidden. The vehicle features minimal physical buttons. The dashboard has a 1.2-meter Harman Kardon sound panel which will should create an impressive sound experience.

The EX30’s interior design follows a centralized principle to maximize space utilization within its compact dimensions. The center console has a sliding and retractable cup holder or phone holder, providing storage space for front and rear
