Lynk & Co Zero seen nearly ready to launch

It’s not unknown for Chinese car companies to officially leak information, we should know we’ve brought you some of them! What’s happening with the Lynk & Co Zero is looking suspiciously like that. At the end of last month we brought you one straight on shot of the Lynk & Co Zero without camouflage. Today we bring you a couple more shots revealing the side and back. Eagle eyed readers might work out the location looks suspiciously like that in the shot from last time. Could Lynk & Co be feeding us with images to build excitement in the run up to the launch of the Zero around the middle of the year?

Some Chinese media are referring to the Zero as a sedan version of the Zeekr 001. There is certainly a big problem with what exactly the difference is between the two brands but with the new shots from Weibo user SugarDesign we can see the design direction of them seems to be diverging. Rather than looking like the Zeekr 001 it is far easier to see echoes of the Lynk & Co 07 EM-P in the design. A new version of the h shaped Dawn Light running lights instantly reinforce the family connection. At the front the hood seems quite strongly raked and lower down there is a large air intake.

Noticeable on the new spy shots are the wheels which seem to have low drag alloys which look very different to those seen on camouflaged cars. We can also see clearly the blacked out pillars and the very sharp angle that the window line angles up between the C and D pillars.

At the  back there is ducktail type design along with the through light bar punctuated by four rectangular protrusions. We expect the car to be over 5 meters in length and around 2 meters wide with a wheelbase close on 3 meters.

The Zero uses the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform and should have an AI digital chassis along with 800V architecture. Performance and drivetrain specifications are likely similar to Zeekr cars riding on the same platform and the Zeekr 001 certainly is likely to be very comparable. Reports suggest that the Zero will come with four wheel steering, CDC electromagnetic dual-chamber air suspension and be able to undertake maneuvers such as tank turns and crab walking.
