Geely Panda Go Kart Edition mini EV will launch on May 9, priced at 6,800 USD

Geely announced that its Panda Mini EV – Go Kart Edition will launch on May 9. The car has already started pre-sale with a price tag of 48,900 yuan (6,800 USD) in late April. As a derivative of the Panda Mini, the Go Kart Edition has adjusted its appearance and has a CLTC cruising range of 200 km.

Geely positioned the Panda Go Kart Edition as an “urban micro-electric kart”. In terms of appearance, the new car continues the current body design, mainly adding a more sporty look with a ‘sonic flight tail’, resembling a go-kart.

The Go Kart Edition runs on 14-inch color-block rims.

Additionally, the Go Kart Edition measures 3150/1540/1685 mm, and the wheelbase is 2015 mm. Compared with the Panda Knight, the new car’s length is increased by 15 mm, the height is increased by 20 mm, and the width is reduced by 25 mm. Compared with the Panda Mini, the length is increased by 85 mm, the width is increased by 18 mm, and the height is increased by 85 mm.

At the same time, the cockpit continues the layout of the current model, with a 9.2-inch slender rectangular instrument panel, an 8-inch central control, and a D-shaped steering wheel.

In terms of intelligence, configurations such as wireless screen projection from mobile phones, remote control (i.e. air conditioner, trunk access), remote vehicle status inquiry, voice control, and navigation are offered.

Additionally, after the rear seats are folded down, the trunk storage capacity can be increased to 800 L.

The powertrain consists of an electric motor that outputs a maximum power of 30 kW and a peak torque of 110 Nm, paired with a 17.03 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack. Two driving modes are supported, namely, normal and sport modes. The top speed is 100 km/h. In addition, both 22 kW DC fast charging and 3.3 kW AC slow charging functions are available. Under fast charging, the battery can replenish from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes. The standard slow charging time is 4.5 hours.
