“We are delighted to unveil the third opus of the programme designed to drive Citroën’s international growth. Our teams are strongly committed to deliver in the coming months this innovative vision of SUV Coupé that exudes bold design, space inside and unique onboard comfort. Developed and produced locally, we are confident that Basalt Vision will appeal to a large number of customers and strengthen our position in major markets. We can’t wait to tell you more about it in the middle of the year.” Thierry Koskas – Citroën CEO.

Citroën Unveil Higher-Grade C3 Model Dubbed C3 Max

Citroën states that the Basalt Vision, a name derived from the volcanic rock meant to embody robustness and timeless serenity, blends several differing automotive characteristics into one platform. The Basalt Vision is the third model spawned from the firm’s C-Cubed programme and founded on the Smart Car Platform, derived from the PSA Group’s Common Modular Platform. The Basalt Vision’s siblings are founded on the same Smart Car Platform, and like the C3 and C3 Aircross, the Basalt Vision is specifically tailored to meet the needs of customers within the Indian and South American markets.

Review: Citroën C3

The new SUV Coupé is claimed to have dynamism associated with Coupés, the robustness of a high-riding SUV, and the balance of a five-door saloon. The B-segment concept is characterised by its receding and sloped roofline, aggressive and angled slim headlights overseeing a segmented grille. Detailed information regarding the Basalt Vision’s underpinnings is not yet available, but the B-segment SUV Coupé will debut in the Indian and South American markets in the second half of this year.
