Bajaj Pulsar NS400 Could Get Another Variant

Bajaj has launched the Pulsar NS400Z at a super competitive price of Rs 1,85,000 (introductory ex-showroom Delhi). However, the Z in the name hints at the possibility of different variants in the future.

Moreover, Rajiv Bajaj in a recent interview with a publication also mentioned that there will always be a better Pulsar. He also added, “...But there is still a lot of technology that we can bring to bear on the Pulsar without it necessarily becoming bigger….” With this in mind, it could be possible that Bajaj may launch a new variant of the Pulsar NS400 in the near future, possibly with a different suffix.

Rajiv Bajaj also acknowledged that people may not be willing to pay a significant premium for the Pulsar as much as they are willing to pay for KTM bikes and Triumphs.

We believe the future variant of the Pulsar NS400 could be a more premium bike with better features than the NS400Z. The NS400Z features an LCD instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, but the new, upcoming variant may get a TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z is equipped with the same 373cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the Bajaj Dominar 400 and produces the same 40PS and 35Nm. It is paired to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. In the upcoming variant, Bajaj may also add a quickshifter.

The upcoming variant may also get a radial front tyre, considering that the NS400Z only has a radial tyre at the rear.

The upcoming variant is likely to be priced at a premium of Rs 10,000-Rs 12,000 as compared to the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z, which comes at an introductory price of Rs 1,85,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The upcoming NS400 variant is expected to make its debut by late 2024 or early 2025.
