16,000-Mile Porsche Carrera GT Comes With Rare Gear-Lever Option

A stunning 2005 Porsche Carrera GT is up for grabs via Hemmings. This GT Silver Metallic example sports several desirable options and recently had some costly maintenance carried out because it's been used occasionally.

With 16,571 miles on the clock, this V10-powered beauty has been driven and enjoyed somewhat, a rarity among hypercars of all sorts. Some of the Carrera GTs we've encountered have spent their lives collecting dust; we spotted an example a few years back with a mere 27 recorded miles on the odometer.

Exotic machinery like this requires extra care and attention when driven regularly. Thankfully, the owner of this car has spared no expense, recently spending more than $80,000 for a significant engine-out service.

Aside from rich leather trim, this CGT has been equipped with several luxuries, including air-conditioning and the Porsche Online Pro CD audio system. Other optional extras include floor mats and a car cover.

Powering this marvelous creation is a naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V10 that produces 605 horsepower and 435 lb-ft of torque. With no driver aids, the Carrera GT is not for the faint-hearted, but those with enough talent to tame the beast will be greatly rewarded. The carbon fiber monocoque was designed to provide dynamic thrills, while the engine could rocket the Carrera GT to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. These days, a 911 Turbo S will out-accelerate the
