WATCH: Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica Vs. Chevy Corvette Z06 Drag Race

The Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica and the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 have gone head-to-head at a drag strip, courtesy of DragTimes on YouTube. While these two high-performance coupes aren't technically rivals in their classes, we've seen stranger pairings before, and this isn't a matchup we'll complain about.

Despite the contending cars wearing similar colors in this drag race, these two mid-engine supercars are quite different in terms of their powerhouses. The C8 Corvette Z06, endearingly called the «American Ferrari» by some, is equipped with a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter flat-plane crankshaft V8 engine, producing 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. But despite more power, this won't be a slam dunk.

The Corvette Z06 in this drag race is still fresh, with only 500 miles on the clock. It's also equipped with the Z07 package, though the additional aero won't help its cause in this drag race. The increase in downforce is perfect for needed grip on corners for faster lap times, but they slow the car down in a straight line.

Meanwhile, the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica, one of the last Huracans before the nameplate's retirement, has a smaller displacement 5.2-liter engine with more cylinders. The naturally aspirated V10 delivers up to 631 hp and 417 lb-ft of torque, but the Lambo has another ace up its sleeve.

Massive price difference aside, the Huracan Tecnica is substantially lighter than the Corvette Z06 by over 200 pounds. This weight difference could offset the power advantage of the American coupe, though it's important to note that both cars can do 10s in a quarter mile. Both have dual-clutch transmissions that exclusively drive the rear wheels, too, so this contest is expected to go down the line in their respective launches, involving driver's skill and traction, among others.

Can the less powerful Tecnica beat the heavier Z06? We won't spoil the video for you, and results aside, hearing these two engines screaming alongside each other is worth the watch alone.
