And sure, the lower trims feel a bit cheap, but a base Colorado Work Truck can be had at a respectably low price if you’re just looking for what the name implies: a work truck.
The 2024 Porsche Macan will be all-new and all-electric … except when it’s neither of those things. What now? You see, the next-generation Macan will in fact be all-electric, based on Porsche’s new “PPE” electric vehicle platform. However, Porsche will continue to sell the gas-powered, first-generation model alongside it in dealerships for as long as the market demands it. In short, there will be two 2024 Macans and possibly two 2025s, two 2026s and so on.
The 2024 Jeep Wrangler is entering the new year as a refreshed model with much-improved tech, useful feature add-ons and the same go-anywhere attitude as always. There are four engine options, including the excellent plug-in hybrid Wrangler 4xe and the hilarious V8-powered Rubicon 392. As always, there are two-door and four-door body styles, plus numerous top and door options that allow you to get closer to nature when off-roading.
The 2024 Volvo XC90 three-row SUV is a real charmer, despite it showing its age, thanks to beautiful design, comfortable driving and an efficient and powerful plug-in hybrid. It’s Swedish through and through with the elegant and upright exterior to the simple, modern interior with quality materials and nifty patterns on plastics and upholstery. As with all Volvos, it’s stuffed with safety features that are standard, and boasts excellent crash test ratings. And the plug-in hybrid XC90 Recharge is a serious standout. Not only is it the most powerful and refined XC90 available, it has a useful amount of electric range at more than 30 miles.
The 2024 Kia EV9 takes a big swing at the electric vehicle market with a mainstream, three-row electric SUV. There are very few three-row EVs on the market so far, and if they’re not extremely expensive, then their third rows offer meager space. The Kia EV9 starts below $60,000 and provides ample room to each of its six or seven (depending on configuration) passengers.
First, the bad news: The 2024 Ford Bronco Sport is pricier than you might think given its small dimensions. It costs a lot more than other subcompact SUVs, and apart from its standard all-wheel drive system and class-leading cargo space, its value will be questionable for many buyers.
