Iowa State Troopers were called to help out a county sheriff's department during a traffic stop that was… less routine than usual. A local man had been pulled over for towing an entire mobile home using an uninsured and unregistered Ford L-Series dump truck, which he reportedly dragged out of retirement. The driver says it was an effort to help out a friend.

Dinamikjaya Motors, a subsidiary of Bermaz Auto, today launched the Kia EV9, which will be offered in two fully-imported (CBU) variants, both in GT-Line guise and with the same powertrain. The difference is in the number of seats, with the more affordable option being a seven-seater priced at RM369,668 on-the-road without insurance. Meanwhile, the second variant of the brand’s fully electric flagship SUV comes with six seats and goes for RM374,668.
Sensors and software have radically changed automotive safety. Modern vehicles can see the world around them and detect lane markings, road signs, other cars, and pedestrians. Now a new rule from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) would mandate automatic emergency braking with increased standards on new vehicles.
A couple of years back, Insurify, the big insurance clearinghouse, conducted a study listing the car models that get the most speeding tickets. Of course, to paraphrase the gun industry, car models don't get speeding tickets, people get speeding tickets, now don't they? Or rather, people who are attracted to those particular car models get speeding tickets, so maybe the models do have something to do with it after all. Drivers, the study said, are «living up to their vehicles' reputations.»
All but two states require that drivers have car insurance, yet a recent MarketWatch Guides study found that one in eight drivers (12.5%) were uninsured. It ranked the states with the highest percentages of uninsured drivers, and none of them included the two where insurance is optional.
