Jeep CEO confirms Gladiator getting a 4xe trim next year

Not only will the exterior palette for the Jeep Gladiator expand with Tuscadero Pink next year, the pickup's powertrain options will expand with a 4xe trim. Antonio Filosa, the brand's global CEO, broke the news on LinkedIn about the new color as well, writing, «Next year, we’ll extend that freedom of choice even further with a Gladiator 4xe option (colors to be announced) that will join the No. 1 and No. 2 best-selling plug-in hybrids in the U.S, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe.» When Jeep dropped the Gladiator's EcoDiesel option last year, buyers have had to make do with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 as the only engine option.

Bentley's Ultra Performance Hybrid succeeds the 6.0-liter W12 - autoblog.com

Bentley's Ultra Performance Hybrid succeeds the 6.0-liter W12

The twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine composed the soundtrack to dreams around the world once it found a home in the Bentley Continental GT, which entered a production in 2003. That engine will sing its final encore in the Bentley Batur Convertible before the curtain comes down, tuned to its highest-ever output of 739 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. The Englanders in Crewe have lifted the hood on the successor, without providing all the details. What we know for now is that the powerplant debuting this summer is called the Ultra Performance Hybrid, a V8 PHEV with «more than 750 PS combined output» and an all-electric range of 50 miles on the WLTP cycle.

Kia EV6 refresh teased with 'Star Map' lighting

Along with the Kia EV3 coming later this year, and the EV4, plus the EV5 for global markets, the automaker's working on a refreshed version of its first battery-electric vehicle for the U.S. market, the EV6. Proving that the design juggernaut won't stop anywhere in the Hyundai Group, the EV6 went on sale here less than three years ago as a 2022 model. But doing everything to maintain focus on its commitment to EVs, Kia wants its veteran rocking the new family look so everyone on the street knows what's what.

Kia EV3 teased in production form, looks much like the concept so far

Kia teased the production version of the EV3 concept before the crossover's global debut May 23. Based on the angles we see so far, and as usual for the brand, there isn't much difference between the show car and the one that will sit on dealer floors later this year. The Star Map lighting on the production version is a little different. The headlights have been trimmed a touch and feature horizontal elements in as on the EV9 and K4 instead of vertical elements. The taillights look to be the same size, but the diagonal contrast on the concept is now a pattern of vertical lines running into the tailgate. That's it for the apparent changes so far. Here's to hoping the concept's four-spoke wheels make the cut, too.

Ferrari 12Cilindri Deep Dive Preview: No electric here, just pure V12 beauty

MARANELLO, Italy – Bentley built its final W12 in April, an engine VW Group introduced in 2001. Mercedes and BMW already bid auf wiedersehen to 12 cylinders. But Ferrari is Ferrari. Defying trends and regulators, the company has created a radically reimagined GT whose name rivals “LaFerrari” for on-the-nose intent: The 12Cilindri.

Jeep CEO doesn't rule out a hybrid powertrain for the Recon EV

Recently installed Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa has a lot of hard yards ahead, his agenda for the brand including a return to one million annual sales globally, figuring out a marketing angle that entices hardcore Jeepers and casuals sniffing around the show floor, improving reliability, improving dealer relations, and navigating an even more stormy transition to electric vehicles. On the latter note, Jeep will launch two battery-electric models soon, the Wagoneer S this year, then the Recon late this year or in early 2025, the first products to reach the market here that sit on the STLA Large platform developed by parent company Stellantis.
