When the factory-backed Corvette Racing Team announced its retirement after more than two decades, the team assured it would continue racing but through customer support programs. The LM2 3.0-liter Duramax is considered a good engine and reasonably fuel-efficient considering its application. But like any engine, improper maintenance can kill a power unit. This particular LM2 would not rev, and the oil also looked terrible. These are two of the most significant clues as to why the engine had no power.

Today's Junkyard Gem is a second-to-the-final-year ¾-ton G-Series van, found recently in a self-service yard in Phoenix, Arizona.
