Surprise! No Maruti car in top 2 in March 2024 as Tata, Hyundai SUVs drive ahead

It rarely happens that a Maruti car is not leading the sales chart during a month. It happened in March 2024 as the Tata Punch was at the top. However, a Maruti car not even being in second position is unheard of. It happened again in March 2024 as the Hyundai Creta took the second spot.

March 2024 was definitely a surprising month. The Tata Punch led sales at 17,547 units during the month. It was followed by the Hyundai Creta at 16,458 units.

While the Tata Punch has had steady growth, the Hyundai Creta's volumes have been quite handsome since the facelift model was introduced in January 2024.

The Tata Punch's ICE version is priced between Rs 6.13 lakh and Rs 10.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tata Punch.ev sits in the price range of Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Hyundai Creta price starts at Rs 11 lakh and goes up to Rs 20.15 lakh (ex-showroom). The performance-focused Hyundai Creta N Line sits in the price bracket from Rs 16.82 lakh to Rs 20.45 lakh (ex-showroom).

The next three positions were taken by Maruti cars in March 2024. The Maruti Suzuki WagonR came third at 16,368 units, ahead of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire at 15,894 units and the Maruti Suzuki Swift at 15,728 units.
