Nissan Magnite Racks Over 30,000 Sales For The Third Year

  • Nissan Magnite domestic sales crosses 1 lakh units since its official launch in 2020.
  • On an average, 30,000 units are sold each year.
  • International exports consolidate to over 30,000 units.
  • The facelifted Nissan Magnite is expected to launch later this year.

Nissan Motor India has recently marked a significant achievement, hitting over 30,000 sales for its sub-4 metre SUV, the Nissan Magnite, for the third consecutive year. Since its introduction in December 2020, the Nissan Magnite has garnered a substantial following, with over 1 lakh domestic customers in India as of January 2024. It has also made an impression internationally, with more than 30,000 made-in-India units exported so far.

It is pretty evident from the charts above that the Nissan Magnite’s sales have increased over the years, though the numbers see a dip in FY 23 — 24 over the same period of the previous year.

The India-made Nissan Magnite is exported to 15 countries, with recent additions such as Seychelles, Bangladesh, Uganda, and Brunei. Nissan India has also redirected its focus from European markets to the Middle East, with key exports to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait in recent years.

The sub-4 metre SUV is available in two petrol engine options: a 1-litre naturally aspirated producing 72 PS (available in 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT), and a 1-litre turbo churning out 100 PS (available in a 5-speed manual and a CVT).

Meanwhile, to keep the Magnite up to date, Nissan India has begun work on a facelift, which will bring a tweaked design and probably more features. One can expect it to be introduced later this year.

Prices for the Nissan Magnite range from Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 11.27 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Nissan Magnite rivals other sub-4 metre SUVs like the Renault Kiger, Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter.
