HANOI — The founder of Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast on Monday launched an EV charging stations company, V-Green, which he said would prioritize supporting VinFast vehicles globally.
Today, Tata Motors has announced that it will set up a new manufacturing facility in the state of Tamil Nadu. The Indian marque has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government and exchanged it in the presence of the Thiru M.K. Stalin, the honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Leapmotor, a Chinese EV brand in which Stellantis picked up a 20 percent strategic stake in October 2023 for Euro 1.5 billion (about Rs 13,500 crore) is being considered for an India entry.

The facility, boasting an annual capacity of 1.50 lakh units and a substantial investment of approximately Rs 4,000 crore, underscores VinFast’s commitment to the burgeoning Indian electric vehicle market.
VinFast, the Vietnamese EV maker, has filed a design patent for the VF 3 in India. The small EV SUV made its international debut at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, 6 months after it was showcased in its homeland. While the VinFast is yet to confirm it, the filing of the design patent indicates that the VF 3 could be under consideration for our market.
