YORK, England — Honda began selling the Fit-based second-generation HR-V in the United States as a 2016 model, but we never saw its first-generation predecessor here. That boxier, shorter machine debuted in Japan as a 1998 model and went on sale in Europe for the 2000 model year. During my recent trip to the junkyards scrapyards of northern England (that's what they call them here) I found this first-year example at the U-Pull-It in York.
For 2025, the 4 Series has undergone a mild inside-and-out freshening, gaining a 48V mild-hybrid system for both the 2.0-liter four-cylinder and 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six. The BMW 4 Series, both coupe and convertible variants, are available in 10 different paint colors, eight of which are metallic. BMW India has launched the i5 electric sedan in India. The first ever electric 5 Series counterpart — the i5 is making its debut in India as the i5 M60 xDrive, which is a BMW M Performance model. Available as a single trim, the BMW i5 M60 xDrive is priced at Rs 1.20 crore (ex-showroom) and is being brought to India as a full-import CBU.
The 2025 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe and battery-electric 2024 i4 (which only comes in Gran Coupe form) have emerged from the Munich design studio with subtle refreshes. On all but the top trims, the new kidney grille surrounds come in matte chrome as standard and with the optional M Sport Package, instead of the Satin Aluminum or Cerium Grey hues of today. More shapely headlights house a single LED module instead of dual beams, plus the new DRL design migrating through BMW's lineup that looks like illuminated quotation marks. When the keyholder gets within 10 feet of the car, the lights perform a «welcome» animation.
Subtle is the best way to describe the latest update that has been brought to the 2025 BMW i4 and 4 Series Gran Coupe. The i4 and 4 Series Gran Coupe will get sharper headlights, a subtly tweaked grille, and “Laserlight” taillamps. There are also new wheel designs and a refreshed color palette.In terms of mechanical upgrades, the i4 stays the same, but the 2025 430i and M440i receive updated powertrains with 48-volt hybrid tech.
During the first decade of our current century, plenty of European car shoppers fell hard for hardtop convertibles based on cheap compact cars. YORK, England — Car shoppers in the United States haven't been able to buy new French cars since the final Renault/Eagle Medallions were sold in 1989, which means I had to go across the Atlantic to find junkyards scrapyards (as they call them here) with plenty of Citroëns, Renaults and Peugeots in stock (though I do find the occasional Mexican-market French machine in the car graveyards of Colorado). From the same U-Pull-It in York, England, that brought us the Peugeot 307 CC awhile back, here's a tiny-yet-spacious tall hatchback that was forcibly retired at age 14.

Cross the Atlantic at that time, however, and you'd find that the compact MPV was one of the most popular choices for Western European drivers seeking plenty of passenger and cargo space in a small package. The Citroën Xsara Picasso was one of the best-selling compact MPVs of its era, and I've found this '06 in a self-service scrapyard (as they call them here) in York, England.
