This week in Autocar, we take our first look at the new electric Range Rover, scoop the future of the Ford Mustang and drive the new cheap-as-chips MG 3.

This year, the Ford Mustang reached a significant milestone. The iconic American muscle car turned 60 as it entered its seventh generation for the 2024 model year, and Ford is celebrating all things Mustang with a series of events and neat bonuses for owners. We may also see a new version of the car next year, as CEO Jim Farley recently teased “one more thing to share” with a post on X/Twitter.
Ford Motor Company was the most-recalled automaker last year, and its 2024 calendar year is off to a similar start. The Blue Oval has recalled 456,565 Bronco Sport SUVs and Maverick pickups to address a loss of drive power issue that could cause a stall, a failure to restart after an auto/start stop event, and a potential loss of 12-volt accessory power.
Ford announced Thursday that the company will delay the release of two highly anticipated electric vehicles. The Blue Oval's next-generation electric pickup and its as yet unnamed three-row SUV, originally slated for 2025, are now expected to reach customers in 2026 and 2027, respectively. Ford also announced a new commitment to hybridizing its lineup, with hybrid options for each of its models by 2030.
Ford Motor Co. is pumping the brakes on the production of two forthcoming electric vehicle models as demand for EVs continues to wane.
This is one of those feel-good stories that's from the «Remember what you've got» and the «Wait, I think I have something in my eye» files. As told by the Detroit Free Press, Utah resident Joseph Tegardine has always been a Ford Mustang guy — and judging by the 1995 Bronco he used to own, maybe a FoMoCo guy. He told the Detroit Free Press, «I've just liked Mustangs for as long as I can remember. Six-year-old me liked it, the headlights looked cool, and I stuck with it.» About six years later, in the seventh grade, Joseph complained to his parents about knee pain. Doctors ran the tests and had to tell the family the football-playing kid had osteosarcoma, a cancer that starts in bones. The years since then have been filled with tests, cancer treatments, and surgeries, one of the procedures requiring doctors to remove his right leg below the knee.
