Named after the man who had started the Italian automaker, Ferrari Enzo was always going to be a highly coveted and performance-oriented creation. Limited to only 399 units following the success of the F50, it will also go down as one of the rarest full-production models from the Maranello automaker. This makes it quite the sight for sore eyes on the road but what makes it an actual sore sight is finding it lying forlorn, across the German Autobahn. Tragedy befell this Rosso Corsa iteration of the Prancing Horse near Munich, Germany, on Tuesday, resulting in a crash that tore off the Ferrari’s nose and injured three individuals.

Ferrari Expected to Launch 3 Models in 2024

Photos from the scene depict the Enzo devoid of its front end, with the collision severing the driver-side wheel. While speculation on the Ferrari Chat forum suggests the vehicle may be repairable, the consensus is that the cost of restoration would be exorbitant – a statement that hardly surprises anyone. Despite this, the value of the model is expected to continue soaring, with the current value of around $4 million. Former Scuderia pilot Fernando Alonso managed to sell his for $5.9 million last year however this is an extreme circumstance.

According to the Munich Fire Department, the incident occurred when “a Ferrari skidded for unknown reasons and crashed into the central barrier.” Debris from the 485 kW and 657 N.m supercar scattered across approximately 200 meters, with fragments from the Ferrari damaging another vehicle. One of the three injured individuals required hospitalization. Fortunately, the screaming F140B naturally aspirated 65° 6.0-litre V12 engine seemed to escape unscathed from the incident with the entire rear of the car seemingly undamaged from the images.
