Kia recently launched the HTE(O) and HTK(O) variants for the Sonet, based on the HTE and HTK variants, respectively. In this report we are going to take you through the HTK (O) variant of the Sonet which gets a couple of high-end features over the HTK variant of the Sonet.

Design

The front end of the Sonet gets the redesigned grille with silver inserts surrounding it. It gets halogen headlamps and misses out on LED DRLs and LED fog lamps which are available on the one-above HTK+ variant.

Turning to the profile, you get 16-inch styled steel wheels for the HTK+ variant. You also get to see the silver roof rack which further uplifts the exterior look

The main addition in terms of rear, is the connected tail lights which gives it an upmarket look. The rear design is complemented by a silver skid plate adding a bit of ruggedness to the appearance of the car.

Interior

Step inside and you will see an all black cabin complemented with black fabric seats. To keep some contrast, you get silver accents around the AC vents, steering wheel and lower centre console. The notable difference over the HTK variant is that when you enter the cabin you will see the automatic AC controls instead of the manual AC.

Features

The HTK (O) variant of the Sonet gets an electric sunroof, rear defogger, and automatic climate control over the HTK variant. Other than the aforementioned features, it gets an 8-inch infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 4.2-inch semi digital driver’s display, C-type chargers (1 at the front, 2 at the rear), tilt steering, electric ORVMs, rear AC vents, 6-speaker sound system, and rear sun shades.

In terms of safety, it features six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill-start assist, rear parking camera with sensors and seat belt reminders for all occupants.

Powertrain

The HTK (O) variant of the Sonet gets the option of both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is powered by the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated unit making 82 PS and 115 Nm paired with a 5-speed manual, while the diesel engine gets the familiar
