Cyan Racing Reveals New P1800 GT Variant As Luxurious US-Spec Restomod

Cyan Racing, the team behind the gorgeous Volvo P1800 Cyan, has announced the arrival of a new comfort-oriented GT model, and it's done so with a gorgeous US-spec example.

The latest grand tourer version retains the classic styling we fell in love with in 2020 but emphasizes long-distance driving and refinement over outright sportiness and dynamism. Cyan has tuned the adjustable suspension for country roads, meaning a compliant ride that doesn't sacrifice handling prowess.

Engineers have also tuned the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to be more usable. Cyan Racing notes a wide range of engine output configurations on offer. While some clients have opted for 350 horsepower, others have a healthy 420 hp at their disposal. If you were hoping for 500 horses or more, let's not forget that the P1800 Cyan weighs less than 2,200 lbs.

This featherweight mass is achieved by using a combination of high-strength steel and a carbon fiber body. Couple the healthy power output with the stiff but lightweight construction and five-speed Hollinger manual transmission, and you've got yourself one exciting grand tourer with classic good looks.

The vehicle pictured here is one of the first GT models to be completed. This example is destined for a lucky client in the United States, and judging by the specs of this P1800, they have exceptional taste. Classy green paintwork (similar to the Nori metallic shade seen on the Lexus LC) pairs nicely with the golden double five-spoke wheels filling the arches.

Inside, the P1800 Cyan benefits from additional sound-proofing, making the restomod more bearable to live with daily, but let's not forget that this restomod is based on a real Volvo racecar, so don't go asking for an automatic transmission.

The interior of this P1800 Cyan GT has been trimmed in sand-colored leather, which extends to the carpeting and door cards. The dashboard is finished in black leather, with classy stitching and beautiful metal switchgear. The dials are exquisite and can be viewed through the sporty three-spoke steering wheel.

As this is the GT model, Cyan Racing has modified the titanium roll cage for improved comfort without compromising chassis
