Following the reveal of the new C3, Citroën has released the first images showcasing the upcoming, next-generation C3 Aircross. Here’s what we know so far…

Sharing not only a design philosophy with its hatchback sibling, the box-fresh C3 Aircross is underpinned by the same ‘Smart Car’ platform, which, the French firm says, allows for enhanced interior space and “flexible” powertrain options.

New Citroën C3 Offered with ICE and Mild Hybrid Choices

The soon-to-debut, new C3 Aircross’ exterior design is, in contrast to the C3’s, more SUV-focused. The crossover model features a prominent front facia, replete with a slim grille spanning the nose and Citroën’s new chevron badge, and revised headlamps, the latter of which incorporates LED daytime-running lights. The addition of roof rails adds to this variant’s SUV-esque persona. ‘Round back, the tailgate is flanked by sharply styled rear lamps, which are fitted with C-shaped daytime running lights. New wheel designs will also be present with the new iteration. An array of personalisation options, such as two-tone exterior hues, will also be available.

However, the most notable change comes in the shape of the interior seating layout. Now measuring 4 390 mm in length (compared to its forebear’s 4 142 mm), the C3 Aircross will be optionally available with a seven-pew seating arrangement.

Yet, even with its bodywork having increased in length and overall larger dimensions, Citroën says the crossover will remain easy to manoeuvre in urban environments.

The new C3 Aircross will be available with a range of powertrains, from hybrid to all-electric set-ups. According to the brand, this multi-energy approach reflects its commitment to not only sustainability but also to innovation.
