Describing Australia as his second home and claimed as an honorary citizen, racing legend Valtteri Bottas has partnered up with Uber Carshare to offer his ‘second car’ for free rental when he isn’t in his Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber C44 Formula 1 car. Valtteri spends his off-seasons travelling Australia, so he is aware of the popularity of the ute in the Land Down Under. “This is a beautiful country and Aussies have welcomed me with open arms. “All modifications in the ute have been carefully considered to make sure it has everything an Aussie could need for a road trip – mullet aeration technology, a meat pie warmer, an esky to keep my drinks cold, a bike rack, detachable hills hoist, freshwater shower, in-built sunscreen, and bug repellent dispensers. I hope you all love this car as much as I do. It’s an absolute pride and joy.”

Uber Carshare (previously Car Next Door) Co-founder, Will Davies, said “We know Aussies love to get away during the Easter long weekend and school holidays, but their first car may not be adequate for their plans – perhaps it’s too small to fit a bunch of mates in the back, doesn’t have roof racks, or simply does not have the amenities you need for a trip up to the mountains. That’s where Uber Carshare comes in. We’re Australia’s home of second cars – over ten thousand road-trip-worthy cars available across Australia and bookable in minutes.”
