Toyota’s Potent GR Yaris Gets Prius-Inspired Makeover
This isn’t real, since Avante Design has taken design cues from the new Prius and embedded some of its style into the GR Yaris in the 3D realm. We like the look!

This digital rendering unashamedly borrows the headlight array from the 2023 Toyota Prius but retains the lower gaping grille design of the standard GR-badge-wearing Yaris. Additional adjustments to the Yaris’ face include a redesigned bonnet with a slim air intake slit. The side profile and rear haunches remain untouched. The backend of the rendered hot hatch features the shapely taillights of the regular GR Yaris except, this digital version has a connecting light array that runs across the backside of the car.
Has Avante Design improved the looks of the GR Yaris, or have they borrowed too much from the Prius?

Aside from Avante’s rendition, rumours allude to Toyota releasing a facelifted version of the GR Yaris in the somewhat near future.
According to the Japanese magazine, Best Car, Toyota is planning to slightly reimagine the GR Yaris, but the most noticeable enhancements may come in the form of powertrain improvements. Best Car stated that Toyota will increase the power of the GR-badged hot hatch to the same output as the GR Corolla (221 KW/370 N.m), as well as offering the Japanese hot hatch with a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Power will undoubtedly still flow to all four wheels via the TGR division rally-bred All-Four system. Visually, the updated GR Yaris may feature a redesigned front end, with speculation suggesting it will have a redesigned front bumper and a larger rear spoiler. Additionally, Toyota is expected to replace the Yaris’ analogue gauges in favour of digital clusters.
ETA? 2024 according to Best Car.
