Should you buy or lease your car? Lease vs. finance is a common question, and an important financial decision many must make. Things are going from bad to worse at Fisker. As cash runs short, the company is getting desperate for income, slashing prices on its electric Ocean SUV and courting a buyout. But the way Fisker handled its finances seems to also be how it handles warranty repairs, as employees allegedly report Fisker is cannibalizing pre-production cars to fix ones already delivered to customers.
Aston Martin posted a bigger-than-expected first-quarter pretax loss on Wednesday as the British luxury carmaker made fewer cars and burned more cash than analysts anticipated, sending its shares 7% lower.
Recently the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Finance and 7 other departments jointly issued a new round of subsidies to boost the car market this year. Announced as the “Implementation Rules for Car Trade-in-Subsidy” it offers a subsidy of up 10,000 yuan (1,400 USD) for buyers who trade-in older cars for new ones before the end of the year. A number of brands have joined in by offering additional incentives for trade-ins.
