It may be tough to tell, but the 2025 Toyota Camry represents a new generation for the tried-and-true family sedan. It sure looks similar than the outgoing Camry and even rides on the same mechanical underpinnings, but rest assured, it has been worked over thoroughly from stem to stern.
The 2024 Nissan Ariya hasn’t changed a bit for its second model year, and yet it’s now a lot more appealing and competitive. Why? As a philosopher once said, “it’s all about the Benjamins.” The price of most Ariya trim levels plunged by $6,000 for 2024 (the base trim is down just $3,600), bringing all but the range-topping Platinum within the $40,000 range. This lower price means that the Ariya now undercuts similarly sized competitors, while offering more space and a high-quality cabin than those with a similar price. It also makes it a bit easier to overlook the Ariya’s main flaw: slow charging speeds.
The 2024 Toyota Supra is an excellent and entertaining two-seat sports car with a storied nameplate. If you were a Supra fan in the '80s or '90s, rest assured that the resurrected model lives up to the name. And, even better, it’s now available with a manual transmission. It’s a compelling and worthy competitor to the newly revamped Nissan Z and, due to its underpinnings, is also a great substitute to the BMW Z4.
Excited for the all-new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser? We are too. This is a profoundly different SUV than the last Land Cruiser, for better and for worse. It’s a lot cheaper, for one, but that’s because it’s a smaller, less sophisticated off-roader that may indeed be less likely to survive 30 years of hard life somewhere in the Sahara. For suburban America, the new one should probably be A-OK. It’s still a Toyota after all.
On paper, the 2025 Subaru Forester is brand new, but compared to the legitimately overhauled Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson of recent years, this generation didn’t exactly start with a clean slate. That said, there were a wealth of changes and updates made that should amount to a Forester better able to keep up with those newer rivals while maintaining most of the unique attributes that keep Subaru loyalists so loyal.
While the 2024 model year will see the long-awaited introduction of an all-new Tacoma as well as a reimagined Land Cruiser, the 2024 Toyota 4Runner soldiers on into the 15th year since a complete redesign. That’s nearly three times the length of a typical car generation, and its underlying platform dates back even further. Frankly, you can tell. Some for the better, increasingly for the worst, and while we have a soft spot for the refreshingly simple, rugged and practical 4Runner, its replacement can’t come soon enough. And yes, we finally can confirm that an all-new one is coming for 2025.

Lexus clearly sees value in zigging where others zag when it comes to the size of its various SUVs. The 2025 Lexus NX is technically a compact SUV given its exterior dimensions, lining up with the Mercedes GLC, for instance, but inside it’s more like a GLA or various subcompact luxury SUVs. Its pricing more closely aligns with them too. That makes the 2025 NX an alternative to both segments, which honestly isn’t such a bad thing. It probably lands in the Goldilocks zone for a lot of buyers because of it.
