This Imagined Suzuki Jimny Bakkie Bears Striking Similarity to the Jeep Gladiator

Not too long ago the prospect of a 5-door Jimny seemed laughable yet here the Japanese automaker is, with a slightly more practical version of its popular SUV… But what if they decided to replicate that recipe for a double cab bakkie? Digital artist Theottle answers that question for us.

This has been done before but now Theottle, famed for digital renders, has had a go at adding a loadbin to Suzuki’s funky and capable SUV. Power is delivered to the rear wheels under normal circumstances or to all four wheels when the transfer gearbox is engaged. The model retains a complete off-road system, including a transfer gearbox with 2H, 4H, and 4 Low Range modes.

It’s worth noting that these power figures may not be optimal for payload and towing capacity requirements if Suzuki ever decides to produce a bakkie variant similar to these digital renders. Considering the success of the Suzuki Jimny, a bakkie variant could find a receptive market, particularly in South Africa with a significant number of bakkie
