Alpine is setting a new benchmark in the electric sports car market with the launch of the A290. This urban sports car embraces the brand’s pillars of performance, agility, and lightweight construction while showcasing French savoir-faire.

Marking the beginning of Alpine’s 100% electric Dream Garage, soon to include a GT C-Crossover and a new A110, the A290 promises to be a fun, zero-emissions vehicle for urban dwellers. It is built on an Ampere-derived electric platform, offering a high-performance driving experience with the convenience of daily use. The car is equipped with energy services like Mobilize Power and bi-directional V2G recharging, integrating seamlessly into a complete electrical ecosystem.

Measuring 3 990 mm in length, 1 820 mm in width, and 1 520 mm in height, the A290 maintains a compact form ideal for urban settings. Its unique lighting signature, featuring four headlamps with X-shaped motifs harks back to its urban people-moving predecessor; the Renault 5.

Unlike its forebear, aerodynamics has been a critical focus, ensuring maximum efficiency to extend the electric range. The car features optimized air intake, wide side skirts, and a rear diffuser. The design avoids oversized spoilers, instead opting for a subtle ‘ducktail’ at the tailgate, enhancing its sporty look. The A290 rides on 19-inch alloy wheels available in exclusive designs, including the Iconic wheels inspired by the Alpine A310 and the Snowflake wheels. Brembo 4-piston monobloc front brake calipers provide braking performance when the demand is too great for electric recuperation. The car is available in four body colours: Alpine Vision Blue, Deep Black, Nival White, and Matte Tornado Grey, with a limited Première Edition
