Polestar 3 Electric SUV Pricing Slashed By Over $10k

Polestar has released updated pricing for the Polestar 3 electric SUV, with additional variants now being offered at a lower price.

Previously, the entry point into the Polestar 3 lineup was the $83,900 Long Range Dual Motor. This variant now costs $73,400 and receives the Pilot Pack as standard. This includes Park Assist Pilot, a head-up display, Land Change Assist, and various driver assistance aids.

For $78,900, the Long Range Dual Motor receives the Pilot Pack and Plus Pack, the latter of which includes a 25-speaker, 1,610-watt Bowers & Wilkins audio system with a fresh air subwoofer. Other luxuries include 21-inch wheels, heated rear seats, and the buyer's choice of animal welfare wool or bio-attributed MicroTech upholstery.

The Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor produces a healthy 489 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque, with an estimated 315-mile range.

For $500 more ($79,400), the Performance Pack upgrade introduces 22-inch forged Performance wheels, Polestar chassis tuning, and Swedish gold accents. A software upgrade increases drivetrain outputs to 517 hp and 671 lb-ft of torque, resulting in a 4.6-second sprint to 60 mph. The range for this model is pegged at 279 miles.

Lastly, there's the fully-loaded Polestar 3 Long Range Dual motor with Pilot Pack, Plus Pack, and Performance Pack. This version retails for $84,900. While that's expensive, it's cheaper than the BMW iX xDrive50 ($87,100) and the Mercedes EQE 500 SUV ($89,500).

What's more, customers who decide to lease the upmarket SUV will be awarded a Polestar Clean Vehicle Incentive of $7,500, passed on to the buyer as a non-cash credit.

Interested parties will be pleased to know Polestar 3 deliveries will kick off in the second quarter of 2024. In the meantime, customers can configure the Polestar 3 on the automaker's website.

Production of the Polestar 3 recently commenced in China, with the automaker noting that local manufacturing is expected to occur later this year. The SUV will be built in South Carolina for the US market. It's the first Polestar product to be built on two continents, which the company says reflects growing demand for its products.
