Maserati MC20 Cielo Aria Dazzles With Rare Carbon Fiber Finish

7Design has lifted the lid on its latest Maserati MC20 Cielo Aria build. Limited to just 25 units, the American tuner has just finished work on its 16th example, known as 'The Silver Surfer.'

Inspired by vintage aviation, this MC20 Aria wears the V2 Aria carbon fiber body kit. The V2 kit has several improvements over the original, such as rear boomerang engine vents and a special rear wing designed exclusively for the drop-top.

The aluminum-like silver finish carries over to the carbon fiber. It's rather unusual and should remain exclusive, with 7Design noting the glimmering silver carbon composite has rarely been used before. Of course, customers can choose from a variety of finishes, first previewed on the rare Primaserie variant.

Unlike many aftermarket options, this has genuine performance-enhancing credentials. 7Design claims the carbon fiber body kit generates 901 lbs of downforce at 200 mph. This represents an aerodynamic increase of 123%, says the tuner.

So, what does the kit consist of? 7Design equips the mid-engine supercar with a front splitter, hood vent inserts, side skirts, a rear diffuser and spoiler, and canards. The tuner also offers various aftermarket wheel options.

Customers can choose from three different finishes for the kit: tinted, forged, or twill. They will be pleased to know that the kit fits onto the original mounting points without needing to drill into the bodywork or use potentially damaging adhesives.

With The Silver Surfer, 7Design has transformed a gorgeous roadster into an exquisite one. Already blessed with high performance levels, the standard MC20 Cielo produces 621 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque from its sonorous-sounding Nettuno V6 engine. It's worth noting that 7Design has a Stage 2 exhaust system that bumps power by 20 extra horses and 15 lb-ft. The company also offers a similar kit for the MC20 hardtop.

CarBuzz has reached out for pricing and will update this article with the tuner's response, but you can be sure that the cost of ownership is not low.

Whatever it costs, this is one of the nicest kits we've seen for the MC20, showing relative restraint compared to alternatives like the MC20 kit Mansory created last
