Manhart Puts BMW X5 M And X6 M On A Carbon Diet

Manhart has released a new carbon fiber styling kit for the latest BMW X5 M and X6 M, lending the SUVs more aggressive looks to match the increased grunt and performance.

While some of the components used for pre-facelift models are the same, the German tuner has had to develop a new front spoiler, bumper inserts, rear bumper touches, and fender add-ons. Visually, the X5 M and X6 M benefit from a more menacing hood, with pronounced bulges hinting at the power underneath. The bumper closely resembles the standard part but has been enhanced with subtle carbon trim in the right places.

Sportier side skirts create the illusion of lowered suspension, contributing to the athletic demeanor. At the rear of both models, you'll find twin spoilers (one on the roof, another on the trunk lid) and fender and rear bumper attachments.

The carbon fiber additions not only enhance the styling but improve aerodynamics and reduce weight, although figures for these improvements have not been provided. Customers can choose between a traditional woven pattern or a more extroverted forged carbon finish.

Attaching the new refinements should be easy. Buyers can tack them onto their Bimmers with adhesives or with screws. We'd opt for the former so that no lasting damage is done.

Manhart doesn't sell the add-ons as a kit, allowing customers to buy the individual parts they want. Although we wouldn't recommend it, you can mix forged and woven carbon fiber for a truly unique (if not strange) look.

The forged carbon side skirts for the X6 M Competition are priced at €3,470 (approximately $3,780), while the carbon fiber trunk lid is priced between $1,800-1,850. Other accessories include a carbon roof spoiler ($1,630-$1,780), forged carbon wheel arches ($8,080), a two-piece rear bumper insert ($2,150), and a carbon hood with GTR vents ($6,940).

For the X5 M Competition, buyers can choose from an array of accessories, such as a carbon rear diffuser ($3,670-$3,830), one-piece carbon trunk spoiler ($1,260-$1,390), carbon rear diffuser ($1,600), and two-piece carbon side blades ($710). The X5 M and X6 M are available with Manhart wheels, such as the Concave One design, for $5,300.
