The Federal Communications Commission released its final net neutrality order on Tuesday, and it includes a few edits to the draft version ensuring that internet service providers can’t sneakily violate fast-lane bans.

Instead of burning planet-warming fossil fuels, these appliances extract warmth from even freezing outdoor air and transfer it into a building, thanks to neat tricks of physics. In the summer, they reverse to act like an air-conditioning unit. One recent study found that if everyone in the United States got a heat pump, it’d slash emissions in the building sector by 36 to 64 percent, and cut overall national emissions by 5 to 9 percent. (Because they’re fully electric, heat pumps run on a grid increasingly loaded with renewable energy.)
LinkedIn, the social network that is ostensibly about work, now has a space just for playing games. The company launched LinkedIn Games this week after testing the gaming waters earlier this year. Back in March, the US Environmental Protection Agency finalized a long-in-the-works rule requiring automakers to dramatically increase the number of battery-powered vehicles they’re putting on the roads. The government has mandated that by 2032 more than half of new cars sold in the US must be electric. There are some caveats, namely that plug-in hybrid cars will fulfill the federal requirements for what a “battery-powered” vehicle is.
As if New Jerseyans don't already have a love/hate relationship with E-ZPass, the automatic toll collection company is making some drivers' lives even more difficult. Some Jersey drivers have found that, within the past year, they were incorrectly charged the same tolling rate as big-rig trucks despite driving normal passenger cars while crossing the George Washington Bridge.
