Signifying a “new chapter” in Lamborghini’s history, the Urus SE is equipped with a plug-in-hybrid powertrain, comprising a “re-engineered” version of the standard, internal combustion Urus’ 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, which, here, has been tuned to produce 456 kW and 800 N.m of torque, and a 141 kW/483 N.m electric motor. The latter, permanent-magnet synchronous unit, which is coupled with a 25.9-kWh lithium-ion battery (allowing for an all-electric range of 60 km when fully charged), has been fitted to the inside of the eight-speed automatic transmission.

“With the Urus SE, we’ve taken another step towards the future in line with our ‘Direzione Cor Tauri’ strategy, moving ahead with the electrification of the range and the path toward decarbonisation that began with the introduction of the Revuelto super sports car,” said said Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini Chairman & CEO.

In total, the petrol-electric engine churns out a whopping 588 kW and 950 N.m, available from 6 000 r/min and 1 750 r/min (to 5 750 r/min), respectively. According to the Sant’Agata Bolognese-based manufacturer, these outputs allow the Urus SE to complete the obligatory 0-100 km/h sprint in “just” 3.4 seconds, a tenth-of-a-second quicker than the Urus S and 0.1 seconds slower than the Urus Performante. In addition, Lamborghini claims a 0-200 km/h sprint time of 11.2 seconds. The maximum speed is rated at 312 km/h (7 km/h and 6 km/h more than the Urus S and Urus Performante, respectively).

“The underlying mission of the project was clear: to offer state-of-the-art performance combined with the uncompromising character typical of Lamborghini’s DNA … The Urus SE is positioned at the top of its class in terms of being fun to drive and for its driving dynamics. It’s a
