2024 Toyota Land Cruiser '1958' Base Model Starts at $57,445

  • The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser has a base price of $57,445.
  • That's for the 1958 trim level, which has cloth seats and retro round headlights.
  • Pricing for the Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser First Edition trims should arrive later on.

In a world where an $80,000 Jeep Wrangler exists, a sub-$60,000 starting price for the new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser sounds somewhat reasonable. Toyota released pricing for the new Land Cruiser's base model, called '1958' to commemorate the original Land Cruiser's arrival in the U.S. It starts at $57,445 and is scheduled to go on sale sometime in the spring. Other trim levels include Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser First Edition, but we don't have pricing for those yet.

The Land Cruiser 1958 comes standard with cloth seats that are heated in front, plus an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Automatic climate control, keyless entry and pushbutton start, and a blind-spot monitor are also on the standard equipment list. Its round LED headlights give it a distinct look compared with the standard Land Cruiser's square lights, although the loaded First Edition also has the round units.

Mechanically, all Land Cruisers come with a 326-hp hybrid powertrain using a turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-four gasoline engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Toyota claims this powertrain is rated at 23 mpg combined. Four-wheel drive is standard on the 1958 trim, as are center and rear locking differentials, a two-speed transfer case, and a system called Crawl Control that's essentially cruise control for off-roading.

We expect to hear more details on the 2024 Land Cruiser soon, including pricing for the other trim levels and more information on equipment and availability.
