2023 Formula 1 Season: Final Results And Championship Standings

This weekend saw the final race of the 2023 F1 season occur in Abu Dhabi. While the race itself had a few bright moments, it was ultimately pretty dull (especially compared to the 2021 season finale), with Verstappen securing yet another victory, Charles Leclerc finishing second, and George Russell in third after a five-second penalty was given to Sergio Perez for pulling a Ford Mustang at a Cars and Coffee and plowing right into Lando Norris (who finished fifth).

The rest of the top 10 comprised Oscar Piastri (sixth), Fernando Alonso (seventh), Yuki Tsunoda (eighth), Lewis Hamilton (ninth), and Lance Stroll (tenth).

Many of those positions were vital in the overall standings. While Red Bull had wrapped up the Constructors' Championship at the Suzuka leg of the season in Japan and both its drivers locked out the top two spots in the Drivers' Championship, teams were battling it out for the final Constructors' standings and the valuable prize money that comes along with them. Here's where they all finished.

*After Nyck De Vries's poor early-season performances, AlphaTauri fired the Dutch driver, replacing him with Daniel Ricciardo. Ricciardo then suffered a broken hand at the Dutch Grand Prix, with Red Bull rookie Liam Lawson deputizing and picking up valuable points. None of these drivers raced a full season.

Red Bull ran away with the championship, but Aston Martin will be disappointed with fifth after it started the season firmly in the top two. McLaren had a late rally that it can hopefully maintain into the 2024 season. Williams was the biggest gainer, up three in the final standings compared to last year. Alfa Romeo, which leaves Formula 1 as a brand after this season, was the biggest loser, down three.
