As the sun sets on its four-year run, the Hemi-powered Wrangler is revving down the road to retirement. For its final model year, 2024, Jeep will wave goodbye to the model with the Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition, but only 3,700 lucky and well-heeled individuals will be able to get their hands on one.You see, the special edition has an eye-watering MSRP $99,995 or $101,890 including the $1,895 destination charge.
Dodge engineers have thought about adding active aerodynamics to the next-generation Charger. A new patent filing from FCA US details an airfoil system integrated into the R-Wing at the hood’s leading edge. The automaker designed it to reduce drag and front-end lift, though it's unclear if the feature will actually make production.
It’s the beginning of the end for the Hemi-powered Dodge Durango. The first in a series of Last Call models is now available, and the automaker has rebooted its Horsepower Locator to help customers find their perfect 2024 Durango SRT 392 AlcHemi.
As part of the marketing campaign for the Ram RHO pickup, the automaker created a three-minute video called "The Convoy" that lined up a number of Ram products including Warlock and Rebel X trims. Because it would take someone in-the-know to identify all the Easter eggs and behind-the-scenes secrets, Jeff Summers, head of advertising at Ram Trucks, has done just that. In a LinkedIn post, he picks out 20 features of the three-minute clip, such as the custom Baja truck «with Ram DNA» belonging to Baja race winner Rhys Millen, and the two KTM motorcycles chosen to represent one of Ram's European partnerships. Regarding the latter, Summers is talking about Ram signing on for a third year of sponsorship of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, specifically in the the FIM Motocross World Championship.
Here's a report that made us check the calendar to make sure about when in April this is. Mopar Insiders says it heard from one of its sources that Jeep's making changes to the powertrain lineup for the two-row Grand Cherokee and three-row Grand Cherokee L next year. Currently, the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 making 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque is the entry-level engine in both models. The only way to upgrade that situation on the Grand Cherokee is to get the plug-in hybrid 4xe model that starts at about $24,000 more. The upgrade for the Grand Cherokee L is the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 making 395 hp and 410 lb-ft, a $3,995 option on the trims that offer it. For next year, Mopar Insiders says Jeep parent company Stellantis will insert a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder as the standard engine on the Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L. The crazy bit is that, according to this rumor, the 2.0-liter will replace the Pentastar and the Hemi, and so be the only engine offered in the Grand Cherokee L. The Grand Cherokee will still be offered as a PHEV.
With the TRX bowing out, the new 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is now the brand’s sportiest offering. It’s not a direct TRX replacement, with its lower price and output, but it will soon sit at the top of Ram’s new Sport truck lineup that includes the Rebel, Warlock, and Power Wagon.
As Stellantis phases out its line of Hemi V8s, both garden- and hellish-feline-variety, Ram is losing its completely outrageous TRX. But that doesn't mean it's done with intense off-road machines. While it lacks the outright power of the TRX, the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO delivers on virtually everything else. Plus, it gets a couple of big benefits over its big-bore forebear.
