Lamborghini sets sales record of more than 10,000 vehicles

The 2023 Lamborghini Urus Performante has been called for duty by the Polizia di Stato, the national police force in Italy, starting in 2024. This won't be the first Raging Bull to serve as a police vehicle, as the Huracan LP610-4 has been sporting a «Polizia» livery since 2017. In fact, Lamborghini has been partnered with the Italian State Police since 2004, with five cars joining the fleet during that time. The Urus Performante will be the sixth.
Lamborghini’s CEO has revealed that the firm is hesitant to completely convert to an all-electric fleet while proposing synthetic fuels as a stopgap that would allow an easier transition from its ICE fleet to a possible electric future.
Lamborghini took its first step towards electrification in 2014 with the Asterion hybrid concept. However, it was until early 2023 that Lamborghini introduced its first production PHEV model Revuelto. The V12 engine-powered model will be followed by the Huracan replacement and an updated Lamborghini Urus in 2024, which will come powered by hybrid power plants combining an internal combustion engine with a battery pack. The sportscar brand plans to launch the purely electric Lanzador in 2028, while the second-generation Urus EV will be introduced in 2029. Lamborghini Squadra Corse just revealed its first-ever hybrid prototype Le Mans car, the SC63, which will make its racing debut next year. When the hybrid Lambo hits the Circuit de la Sarthe, it will be the Italian brand's first time competing in the LMDh class of the FIA World Endurance Championship. You'll also see it in the GTP class of the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship Endurance Cup. So expect to see the Lamborghini SC63 at the 24 Hoursof Le Mans and Daytona, as well as the 12 Hours of Sebring.
