New Fords Will No Longer Parallel Park Themselves
Ford is ditching the feature that allows some of its models to park themselves. Active Park Assist has been around for over a decade, but apparently it hasn't been as popular as its marketing might suggest. Bloomberg reported that earlier this week Ford COO Kumar Galhotra told analysts on a conference call that the company's connected vehicle data showed that «Very, very few people are using it...». Dodge stepped up to right the dealership's wrong, the dealer chain fired the employees who wronged the soldier to begin with, and even Jay Leno stepped in and let the soldier take delivery of their new Demon 170 at his famous garage. Ford EV Owners to Receive Free Adapter for Tesla Superchargers
Ford is just one of the many automakers that plan to start building new EVs that feature Tesla's proprietary charge port, which is known as the North American Charging Standard—or NACS, for short. Like most other companies, Ford plans to make the switch starting sometime in 2025, and it has pledged to offer an adapter for some existing electric models with a CCS-style plug. While Ford isn't alone in promising an adapter, the company looks to be one of the first to deliver one to customers. Ford CEO Jim Farley today posted on his social media accounts that eligible customers will soon be able to reserve a complimentary fast-charger adapter. That will give many Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E owners who live in Canada and the U.S. access to Tesla's vast Supercharger network.
Honda Accord Owners Can Add Wireless Apple CarPlay for $112-Plus
The Honda Accord has earned a spot on Car and Driver's annual 10Best list for a record 38 times, which includes the new 11th-generation that debuted for the 2023 model year. The newest Accord arrived with prettier styling and better features that include a slicker infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on models with the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen. While the previous generation only offered wired CarPlay and Android Auto, Honda today announced a way for owners to retrofit a wireless connection. People who already own a 2018 to 2022 Honda Accord that's equipped with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which was standard with the 8.0-inch touchscreen, can have the wireless version installed by a dealer.
