2024 Nissan Patrol Needs Armada’s Interior But Gets Aftermarket Screen Instead
The current generation Nissan Patrol has been on the market since 2010 and while it has received two facelifts in that time, shoppers in Australia haven’t received all of the same upgrades as those in other markets. Nissan Australia is looking to rectify this with the 2024 model year Patrol.You see, while the Patrol sold Down Under is very similar to the Armada sold in the U.S., it has the same basic interior it has had for the past 14 years. By comparison, America’s Armada has a much more well-equipped cabin.

Instead, Nissan Australia has turned to the aftermarket to give the off-roader’s cabin a facelift.The company has partnered with a local automotive supplier by the name of Directed Technologies and installed a new 10.1-inch touchscreen. This new screen includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB+ digital radio, and a new wide-angle rear-view camera.
The 2024 Patrol has also ditched the outgoing model’s ancient CD player and the dizzying array of buttons with a simpler setup for important infotainment and climate functions. The space once occupied by the old 8.0-inch touchscreen is now a storage cubby.The updated Patrol’s infotainment system also includes Hema Maps, considered Australia’s most comprehensive off-road mapping service. Buyers of the 2024 model will receive a 1-month free subscription to the service.Nissan Australia has also updated the Patrol with a front-row center cool box in the Ti trim level.
The Ti also gets a digital rear-view mirror and an improved six-speaker audio system. Curiously, the 13-speaker Bose sound system previously found in the flagship Patrol Ti-L has been ditched in favor of a six-speaker Infinity system.Mechanically, the 2024 Patrol remains identical to the model it replaces. As such, it continues to rock a 5.6-liter naturally-aspirated V8 with 298 kW (400 hp) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque.
